We can look in Rock Island but don't have records for Davenport as that would be Scot County, IA
Looking for information on the Koehli/Kahley family that lived in the Rock Island area in the 1860s. My Great Grandmother Anna Kahley (Kohli) was born in 1863 in either Davenport (IA) or Rock Island. Anyone know of these folks. Her father was Fred Koehli (from Switzerland). FRIEDRICH WILHELM KOEHLI (1825 SWITZ-1883 IA) m: Anna TRAUFFER (1850 SWITZ-1903 SD) 5 Friedrich George KOEHLI (1851 SWITZ-1935 IA) m: Katherine Louise KASSEL (1851 D-1922 IA) 5 Rosa KOEHLI (1853-1923) IL/SD m: Chris John MUELLER (MILLER) 5 John J KOEHLI (1855-1930) IL/IA/CA 5 Henry "Hank" W KOEHLI (1859- 1939) IL/IA m: Ellen PETERSEN (1868-1920) 5 Ben KOEHLI (1861-1885) IL/IA 5 ANNA MARGARETE KOEHLI/KAHLEY (1863-1903) m: Fred BRATTMILLER (1864-1952) Ger/IA/CA Sometime during their tenure in the Rock Island area, they changed the spelling of the name from Koehi to Kahley. During the Civil War, dad Fred joined a volunterer infantry regiment out of Davenport and served for 3 years. I have been unable to determine if they lived in Davenport or Rock Island. Does anyone have access to the 1860 census? Gary Speck ([email protected]) "Experience a past life -- visit a ghost town!" Hi listers, I'm researching the families of George T. Wood and his son Rollo Wood. George's wife, Elizabeth, was a member of the Bollman family. Rollo's was married to Sadie Lou Ella Swann. Sadie's parents were Eli Swann and Barbara Bowling. Barbar's aunt, Margaret was married to George Davenport. I'd love to make contact with others reasearching these families and my fondest wish, at this point, is to find the death date and burial place for Rollo Wood. I have conflicting evidence as to his death date and, to this date, I have not been able to find his place of burial. It is said to be in the Beardstown cemetery but no one can find it. Carol

Hi, I need help to find anything about Sven Johan Persson/Peterson who was born 1844 28/6 in Flisby parish in Sweden. He emmigrated in year 1868 to USA, Illinois. I have been told after a short time in USA he was hanged to death. Maybe in year 1870?? Any help with this? Did he ever married? Had any children? Maybe he spelled his name another way in USA. Kind regards from Inga in Sweden.

I am trying to find death information about SUSANNAH SIMPSON CONDON, she was married to REV. JOHN LEWIS CONDON. In 1844 they were living in Rock Island County where their son Andrew Lewis Condon was born. In 1848 John Lewis married Mary Ann Gregg in Rock Island County, so Susannah must have died within that short period of time. Any information about any of them would be greatly appreciated. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). We will see if we can find anything for you. My maternal side was from Sweden and so was my husband's. There is also a place called the Swensson Center at Augustana College, Rock Island, IL that has all of the Swedish church records on microfilm and you could write them for information. We do research at the Rock Island Historical Society and will check there first. Many Swedes came to Moline as there was a large lumber industry and then John Deere came with his steel plow and then there were good jobs for everybody. My grgrandfather was Sven Dahlberg of Christionstaad and my other one was Anders Okkeson of Troll Llungby who was a tailor here in Moline. We belong to the American Scandavian Association here also. My brother died suddenly and while I was taking care of his things my email was lost! I would like to get the addresses of those that I have been talking to in the past. I hope I can reach everyone. My brother's death has taught me a very valuable but hard lesson, don't ever leave off until tomorrow what you should do and say today!!! Never leave without saying your sorry, even if you were not in the wrong. There may not be a time to make up. Love to all! Sorry if you receive this more than once but I have to contact all my groups. Thanks, Amy West
