I would like to find my counsin's wedding announcemtn, but I have no idea what newspaper would carry Moline news. The information is William Penrod, married Carleen Sundeen, Sep. 2, 1942. Would this paper be on line at a library? Also can someone also tell me where to write for the marriage record and how much it will cost? Thanks. Noreen in Oregon
We can check in Rock Island but it looks like most of them were from out of our area.
Il death index shows an Emma B. Kelley, 52, died July 9, 1935, not 1936. in East Moline. cert.# 0032501 May you live to be a hundred, with an extra year to repent! Researching information on my gr-grandparents named BEATY who migrated from PENN to IOWA 1836 - 1839. They had a son born in Illinois 1838. Would Rock Island Co. have been on any migration "trail" in those times. Have good records that they left PENN in the Spring of 1836 and were in Muscatin County, IOWA 1840 and on. Hope to find some resources for those years in Illinois. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
I have a picture that was included in my grandmother's photo album. It is labeled "Stones - July, 1915". It is a picture of 5 people and a dog. My grandmother, Alice Bisant, lived just east of Carbon Cliff. And I know that there was a Stone family in Carbon Cliff at one time. If anyone is interested in this photo, I would be glad to send them a copy of this picture. Jean Heimburger Taylor Removed to Indiana

Carol, I think George and Elizabeth are buried in Chippiannock Cemetery. I only have the Index at home so I don't have any dates. Bev
Gary, I don't find them in the 1860 Census under either spelling. Bev
Dear Dick and listers, How could I have forgotten dates! That middle age brain strikes again. George Wood married to Elizabeth Bollman was born 1830 in New York and died in 1907 in Rock Island. Elizabeth was born in 1839 in Illinois and died in 1918. I have no documentation as to where she died. Rollo Wood was born 27 February 1858 in Rock Island. His wife, Sadie Lou Ella Swann, I have listed as being born 27 February, 1854 in Winchester, VA. I think that it may be possible that one of these birth dates is wrong. They may have had the same birthday but, it could easily be a mistake also. And Dick, thank you for looking up Sadie. Carol
