    2. Marc L. Hundley
    3. Hello, Having ordered and read through 400 plus pages of the Biographical sketches of Rock Is. Co. I found on Helen Whipple Reed b. May 1813 in Cazenovia, NY. Her maiden name was Davenport and daughter of William and Elizabeth OLIN Davenport. I would like to know if anyone knows if she was related to Col. Davenport and if anyone knows of the OLIN line back through her mother. She had an uncle, Abrana OLIN, who wa Judge of the Dist. Court of Columbia in Washington, DC. As of 1885 she was living in Moline and is the ONLY woman mentioned in this book. My gr gr grandfather, A.A. OLIN, moved to Port Byron in 1876 and worked for the WU ticket agency. He married Agnes Belle Maxwell in 1876. I am fairly sure that these two OLINs would have been related, but I doubt that they ever knew each other. I will also check with the Olin Family Society and see what I can find out. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you, Ruth in so. Illinois

    3. The Bruner family is from Muscatine county as well. You'll find a lot of people crossed back and forth, quite often. :-) Muscatine's records have been very well indexed and early marriages, deaths and births are availabled through the Musser Public Library. The Early Settler records also have extensive information on pioneers of the county. Eli Thornton (elder brother of Err Thornton) is my own gggrandfather and from Muscatine. I've found Thornton and Hoberts in both places. :-) I'm certain you'll find Bruner there. I remember seeing them. -- Diana J. 2. Does anyone have a WELLS connection with Rural Twp, in Rock Island Co., specifically the Farlow's Grove area around 1875? A very kind lookup person has shared a story with me about how Henry O. WELLS was hunting in Farlow's Grove around 1875 and shot and killed a cougar who was about to attack him. I am trying to find any info on Henry O. WELLS, especially the names of his children and spouse. If anyone has relative information to the above, I would love to hear from you. Peggy Riggs Kopp

    3. As a Hobert myself, don't forget to search for Hobert as well as Hobart. There are two distinct families, but sometimes (being that they weren't educated people who could always spell and write) the name got mixed up. 1. [ILROCKIS-L] RAUCH, WELLS, GRAGE
    2. Thanks for writing, Jessica. RAUCH is a new line that I just discovered in my family tree. My great aunt, Dema WELLS, b. abt 1856, Randolph Co., IL, married Charles RAUCH, b. abt 1847, Randolph Co., IL. They had a child, Charles Frederick RAUCH, b. Aug. 22, 1878, Kaskaskia, IL. This info was found on-line, and I believe it was from the Randolph County IL History, 1792-1879, by Carol Scott (my notes are so messy that the spelling of her name may be wrong). So, I have no documentation, but am eager for any information that you or any other RAUCH researcher may have that relates to these people. Any help is gratefully appreciated.
