    1. [ILRANDOL] Newspaper Randolph County that covered Red Bud 1951

    3. What newspaper most likely would have published an obituary for a resident of Red Bud who died April 30, 1951? I searched the online index of newspaper holdings of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library in Springfield. They don't have the Red Bud Pilgrim for that time period. And the Chester Herald-Tribune didn't carry the obit. Would the Sparta News-Plaindealer be the next logical choice? I see that The Republican (Coulterville) was being published then, but Sparta seems to be closer to Red Bud. The obit that I am looking for is for Louis G. Kaiser, dod April 30, 1951. Jean Taylor

    3. You might contact the funeral homes directly, they sometimes have copies of the obituary. Here are the two I could find: Koch-Liefer Funeral Home, 220 Locust St., Red Bud, IL 62278 Phone: 618-282-2325 and Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home, 1340 W. Market St., Red Bud, IL 62278 Phone: 618-282-2244. You might possibly try Waterloo, IL also as it's not that far from Red Bud. More funeral homes can be found at www.usafuneralhomesonline.com/funeralhomesbystate/ Here's the website for the North County News from Red Bud; not a daily newspaper, I don't know if it was in existence in 1951, but you can e-mail them from this website and they might be able to help you. http://www.blossomcity.com/ncn/ I hope some of this might help.
