My dad and I have been compiling information on the descendants of our ancestor Richard Snow of Woburn Massachusetts for several years. In pursuing descendants of Richard I happened to find the following in the 1850 Census for Hampton, Windham, Connecticut: William Snow, 41, M, carriage maker, born Connecticut; Sally A. Snow, 43, F, born Connecticut; Henry C. Snow, 19, M, laborer, born Connecticut; Edwin W. Snow 17, M, laborer, born Connecticut; Andrew D. Snow 16, M, laborer, born Connecticut, attended school; Maria S. Snow, 13, F, born Connecticut, attended school; Julia A. Snow, 11, F, born Connecticut, attended school; Isabel M. Snow, 3/12, F, born Connecticut. Living next door to this family were Wm Snow, 66, M, wagon maker, born Connecticut; Mercy Snow, 63, F, born Connecticut; Geo. C. Snow, 25, M, painter, born Connecticut. I think that the Wm Snow, wagon maker, age 66, is the son of William Snow and Mary Johnson who was born 12 Jul 1784 in Ashford, Windham, Connecticut. I presume that the William aged 41 who lives next door is his son. Can you confirm this? I am most excited to find that you have been to Hartland, England and have done some research on the Snows there. The reason my Dad and I started compiling all these Richard Snow descendants was because we hoped it would lead us back to finding where Richard Snow came from in England. We made an index to the Barnstaple and Hartland Parish Registers hoping that it would help us figure things out. I still think that I am missing a few pieces to the puzzle. I'm anxious to learn what you might have on the Snows in Hartland. I have the information on how we are related to Lorenzo and Eliza Snow of the LDS church. Linda Snow Westover
