>From the Randolph County Genealogical Society Newsletter of April 2002: More discussion was held on publishing a book on Veterans of Randolph county. Veterans featured in the book could be from ANY SERVICE, from the Revolutionary War through the present Afghanistan conflict. We need imput, from you, the members, as to your willingness to submit short military histories of veterans of your family, also your comments in regard to RCGS undertaking such a project. It was decided to contact both radio stations and all county newspapers, and get the idea out to the public, to determine the interest of non RCGS members. We are asking anyone interested to call us on Monday or Tuesday at 618-826-3807, or drop us a line, 600 State St., Suite 306, Chester, IL 62233 and give us your comments. We will not proceed with this project unless we get favorable response from our members and Randolph County Veteran Organizations.....Let us hear from you.......
