This is putting us in a spot according to the President, Virginia Mansker. Not all of you are sending in your check quickly and we need to money so that we can pay postage for more packages of information to be mailed. We have been copying probates and sending them without getting money up front also. We have decided that this must stop if payment for our services are not paid promptly. It is easier for us if we go ahead and send it as soon as we copy it without asking for payment first, but we have to have operating money too. PLEASE, send your money right now if you owe it. If possible, send the money to RCGS instead of the courthouse, so that we can cash the check ourselves. WE do the research if you send it to the Circuit Clerk or County Clerk if it pertains to genealogy, so SEND THE CHECK TO RANDOLPH COUNTY GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY or just RCGS at 600 State Street, Suite 306, Chester, IL 62233. Our phone number is 618-826-3807. RCGS only charges $7.00 per hour for research & copying. Believe me it is worth that much! Copying probates is a boring job and I must stand while doing it.
