Dear Denise, According to: A Genealogy, History and Chronology of the Kreisler-Crisler Family of the United States of America by Crisler, William Neville Jr; 1981, Waco, TX; Texian Press, repository Chester, IL Public Library: Parents of Leonard Crisler who married Eleanor Taggart are Elder Silas Crisler and Mary Ann Shaver. They were married 28 Sep 1808 in Burlington, Boone, KY. They had 9 children., of which Leonard is #5. "One of the most useful and respected of the early residents of the county, the Rev. Silas Crisler, arrived from Boone county, KY in 1818, and began the improvement of a farm, on the old Shawneetown road, near the Harmon settlement seven miles north of Chester. Much of his time was devoted to the work of the ministry, and he was the founder and pastor of the Gravel creek church, one of the early Baptist churches in Illinois. He died in 1851" (Combined History of Randolph, Monroe and Perry Counties Illinois wilth illustrations; McDonaugh & Co, Philadelphia PA 1883 , repository, Seattle Public Library) Leonard and Mary had 3 children: John Leonard b. 1841; Silas Fletcher, 1842-1880; John Washington 1842-1863 (died Mission Ridge, TN) Silas Fletcher married Mary Harmon cir 1866-1867 (I do not have a source for this, it is from births of children) Their 3rd child, John W Crisler, married Caddie Wilson and that is the line I am working on.
