The 1850 Federal Census for Randolph County lists eight year-old Eliza J. MOORE iand her eleven year-old brother Frances E. MOORE (my great grandfather) n the household of their stepfather Samuel BOYD. The census seems to say Eliza was born in "SI," but where is that? According to family lore, Francis's parents, William Moore and Margaret Dunn immigrated from Ireland in 1840/41, arrived at Chester, IL in Feb 1841, and "settled southeast of Evansville on what has been known as the Archibald Hogue farm." If so, Eliza J. MOORE must have been born in Randolph County. I have found no further record of Eliza J. MOORE. She is not in Samuel BOYD's houshold after 1850. Does anybody know what may have become of her?
