Thank you for speaking up about obtaining the medical records of ANYONE who has been hospitalized for mental illness especially. Sometimes it is good to know what happened to that person and sometimes it might be an invasion of the hospitalized person's privacy. Be very careful! If this were you, would you want anyone else to have that information? DO WHAT IS RIGHT. If you need to know to save anyone in your family from the same illness, then do it. So if I understand all this correctly, access to these records, even if they died over 100 years ago, are not allowed? I have a distant relative that died in the Anna hospital (and is buried there) and I was, at some point, going to try and access those files.
