These people are not in the Chester Funeral Home records, because I did them and these people are not listed. You should ask again and put a city in the note. Velda Wittenbrink Moore vel_chick@verizon.net http://www.larrett.com/velda/ http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilrcgs/

>From another List: ========== I have mentioned The Genealogy Guys podcasts. http://genealogyguys.com/ Now there is FamilyRoots Radio. http://www.familyrootsradio.com/index.html You can download the program or listen online. You do NOT have to own an iPod to listen. I don't. You can play them online, on your computer, your portable music player, etc. I copy them to my PDA and listen while I walk. I burn them to CDs for listening when I am in the car. A friend with an iPod listens on the subway on the way to work. Sometimes they are not subjects of major interest but I always learn something. When I was looking for some, I went through the public library. There is a library in Sparta and a lot of those other little towns. I just emailed in the request - it probably would take them a little longer if they don't have an exact date of death for the person. Anyway, they will do it for you if you don't mind waiting a little while (sometimes they are very busy, etc.). Usually you can find the library details & email address on the internet if you do a search. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. This book traces the history of St. Patrick's Church in Ruma, Illinois. It begins with the Pioneers of Faith who began the parish including O'Hara, Mudd, Horrell, Faherty, Simpson, and six other Irish immigrant families. There is an illustration of the original log chapel and the house where Mass was offered 1818-1826. The following are also included: photo of the first burial in the cemetery, a photo of the 1800's parish record book, a photo of St. Patrick's College, a large fold out photo of the church, a photo of the new brick school, photos of the stained glass windows, photos of the former pastors, a photo of the old school building used 1876-1965, photo of the Ruma Hotel, photo of Sr. Gerarda and so much more. There are also pages of patrons names which include former and present parishioners. I believe this book would enrich the family history of anyone with ties to this parish. Please contact me directly if you have an interest in this book. Kathy Wieland in St. Louis Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
