Velda, What are the days and hours for the RCHS? I am trying to plan a trip down in the next couple of weeks and want to make a trip up there. Mary Riseling Springfield, IL
Hello Velda, For years, I have come across that listing of Revolutionary Soldiers buried in Randolph County and Illinois. In truth, there is at least one mistake. My ancestor, John Dodge, though he fought with Rogers Clark's Illinois Regiment, did not die in Illinois, but in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri. He was buried in the old Ste. Genevieve Cemetery, much of which has been damaged, so I do not believe that there is a tombstone. I am attaching a scan of his death registration which confirms this. Maybe you would like to put a little note to the list of Rev. War soldiers for future Dodge researchers. All the best Anna --------------------------------- 8:00? 8:25? 8:40? There is a probate for William I. Brown in 1868; James T. Borwn in 1866; James C. in 1866; there are many possibilities here in Randolph County, such as Carlisle J. Brown in 1879 Velda Wittenbrink Moore vel_chick@verizon.net http://www.larrett.com/velda/ http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilrcgs/

Lee, I have Samuel Anderson Edmiston (b. 1851 Leroy, Genesee Co., NY). He married Clara Jeanette Landauer 31 Oct 1833 in Fulton Co. IL. They had three children: Vera, Raymond and Landauer P. Edmiston. All three children were born in Arkansas; Raymond in Pine Bluff, Jefferson Co., AR. Samuel A. Edmiston's parents were John A. Edmiston (b, 1823, OH) and Adelia Richmond (b. 1832, MI). They travelled a LOT. John was a carpenter and a then a photographer. Sam was also a Photographer and had a shop in Canton, Fulton Co. ,IL for some years. John and Adelia's children were Samuel (b. NY), Estella (b. MI), Elize Belle (b. IN) and Cora E. (b. MI). Edmiston isn't THAT common of a surname. I don't have any link to them in Randolf Co., but I did have Clara Jeannette's brother, Leroy, dieing in Randolf Co. in 1901. Any link?
