    1. [ILRANDOL] WELGE FUNERAL HOME
    2. Velda Moore
    3. I will look up any Surname in the Welge Funeral Home books that I have made. I will do this for one week, so get your order in. I will only tell you how many times that name appears or if the name you are interested in is in the book. I will not give you every bit of info in the book on that Surname. These people were from the towns of CHESTER, EVANSVILLE, STEELEVILLE, BREMEN, WINE HILL, and others. Some people whose family had come from other areas were taken back for burial, such as Tamaroa, or St. Louis, or Chicago. In most cases, the cemetery is listed. Velda Wittenbrink Moore

    2. Barb Bolesta
    3. I received an email message from a Pearla Benjamin wanting to know if I knew of a Howard Snow who would have graduated from high school about 1950 before he went to the Korean War. She doesn't know what town in RC. I'm not familiar with any Snows in Steeleville. Since that was the year I was born, I guess he could have lived there for a time, but his family wasn't there when I was growing up. If anyone can help her, here's her email address. 1. [ILRANDOL] Chester newspaper microfilms
    2. Martha near Seattle
    3. Dear list: Here are the microfilm sources for the newspaper extracts/abstracts posted on the Randolph County web site. 1) "Chester Tribune Fragments 1873-1879; 1894-July 22, 1897." Microfilm AP43,405 from Illinois State Historical Library, Old State Capitol, Springfield, IL. 2) Misc. IL Newspapers--IL State Historical Society--Eastern IL University Library "The Misc. papers M-9B Roll 1-285" I did not extract the legal notices, of which there were many. I would encourage you to get the microfilm through your library's inter-library loan program and search for yourselves. There were many notices for estate settlements which are valuable in genealogical information, but a royal pain to copy out! Martha, near Seattle.

    1. Re: [ILRANDOL] BRADLEY and STEELE
    2. Joel S. Russell
    3. Hi Carol, Rachel Isabel Bradley (b. c1839) was the sister of Harriet Elizabeth Bradley (c1841-1875). Both were daughters of Benjamin Franklin Bradley (1804-1870) and his first wife Nancy Harris. The only two children I know of for Isabel and Thomas Steele were George B. Steele (b. c1864) and Della S. Steele (b. c1871). Isabel and her two children were living in Sparta in 1880. I'm not sure about the Frank Steele you mentioned. In 1860 Thomas Steele's household consisted of his wife Isabel and her older sister Lucinda. If you need more info on the Bradley family just let me know, you can also check my webpage at http://www.mindspring.com/~jsruss/ .
