I have no idea what the L.T. stands for, but lots of the descriptions for the people in the cemetery have it. There were obviously two Jacob Baughman's. The baby could be the grandson of Sarah's husband. Hope this helps. Barb Bolesta
Good afternoon. I'm looking for any info on the Baughman family from Randolph County. While searching the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery (Chester) in July for my wife's relatives, I came across a grave for Jacob Baughman. I didn't take a picture or make any notes because I thought all my Baughman relation were in Pike County, Illinois. It wasn't until a couple of weeks ago that I found that the Jacob buried in St. Johns was probably related to my great granfather and others from Pike County. I contacted the church and the lady there has no records on any Baughman being buried there. I live in Fort Lewis, Washington and I was wondering if anyone had any info on the Baughmans or if someone could visit the cemetery and look for Jacob Baughman's grave. I'm sure it was at the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Chester. As you pull into the cemetery and you're facing the flag pole, the grave for Jacob is to the left and the rows closer to the flag pole. I sure would appreciate any help and would be willing to pay for any inscriptions or pictures of the grave. It'll be awhile before I can get back to Chester. Thanks in advance. My address is: Rocky Kelley 8175 Dallas Place Fort Lewis, WA 98433 I have a toll free number at work. It's 888-404-6560. Just ask for Sergeant Kelley. I'm in the Army.

Hi, I was under the impression that a person had to be dead for 50 or more years before you could aquire a copy of their death certificate, also you should know your relationship to the individual. I found this info while looking through the IL State Web site and thought I would pass it along. Researchers asking for copies of death certificates issued after 1947 should direct requests to the Illinois Deparment of Public Health or to the county clerk's office of the county where the death occurred. In compliance with current legislation, the Illinois Department of Public Health and county clerks shall furnish for genealogical purposes certified or uncertified photocopies of death records not less than 20 years old at a specified fee (410 Illinois Compiled Statutes 535/25). I never found anything about having to give your relationship to the dead person. Virginia

Dear friends, Charlotte ANDERSON married Joseph TRABUE in Randolph County on 11 December 1862. This was her second marriage - the first one was to Mathew MARTIN on 30 September 1849, also in Randolph County. Her parents were Jesse and Mary Ann ANDERSON. This is absolutely ALL I know about Charlotte! I would like to find out more about her (she was my great-grandfather's sister). Where could I start looking for her? In that sketch she described and gave some biographical information about the parents of Elizabeth KREHER, Christopher KREHER and Anna Maria HAUS. I am a descendant of Christopher and Anna Maria in Butler County, PA, and I'd like to find out where the information for the KREHERs in this sketch comes from, particularly the birth and marriage dates of the KREHERs in Munster, Germany. It may have been that Sam was the Grandfather of Robert. In any event, after many years of tracing this line I am unable to say definitively who Robert's father may have been. It appears unlikely that he had any siblings that made the trip with him from Abbeville, SC. His and Susanna McClinton's headstone is still standing in Kelly Cemetery. There are no other Fosters in close proximity to this marker. John Parker [email protected]
Dear friends, please forgive my posting to the list. I'm trying to contact Velda Moore, but can't seem to get through. I sent the Randolph County Historical Society one of their soldiers' forms, with a biography of my great-grandfather, and was asking Velda if she would let me know when the Society received it. I do hate to do this - Velda, what is your e-mail address? Jo Anna Dale, <[email protected]>
