I have a book compiled by Virginia L. Mansker named Obituaries from the Rockwood Area. As I understand it, Virginia is not ready to print more of these books until at least 10 orders or more have been sent to her. This book was first printed in 1998. Many of the obits are from the 1800's and many from the early to mid 1900's, ending with the year 1997, with a few of early 1998. Many just have ties to the Rockwood area. If you want to know if your relatives are listed, please ask me. If you want a book, just tell me. I will be glad to tell you how many times and on what pages your families are listed so that you can see if you would like to have a book. Please tell your friends and relatives if they have a tie to Rockwood. It has 205 pages. Obits tell all the relatives in many cases, so this one is invaluable. Virginia does not know that I am writing this. I just think this book is so great that you might want one. Wondering if anyone has this name in their family or has seen it anywhere. The name when they came over in 1853 was Zwickelhuber, but now have found letters with his signature where he may have shortened his name. He signed the letters P.Z. HUBER. Hi, I have a few pages from a little booklet that was titled "COUNTRY SCHOOLS" "ROCKWOOD AREA" I am not sure how old it is, probably printed within the last 10 - 15 years? There are a few class pictures in this booklet, one of them on Page 56 has the "Lower Grades Class of 1933" the teacher was Mable Anderson. My father is in this picture and I do not have any pictures of him as a child. Would anyone know where I might be able to locate the original, in hopes that I could have a copy made of it? Or is there anyone else out there that would possibly have an original one that I could possibly have a copy made from? There is also another picture that I am interested in, it is on Page 87, it is of the "WRIGHT'S STORE/SERVICE STATION", this was my Grandmother's brothers place. Is anyone in Randolph, Perry, or Jackson County doing research on the Brewer or Davis family? I need information on both of the persons in the Subject Line. I had been looking for their marriage in Missouri because they lived in Perry County, MO, but today I found their marriage license in the Randolph County Courthouse. They married 11 Aug 1870 and Alexander Hood, County Judge, officiated. Jones, ? P. gave his consent as her guardian and because she was a minor.
