Good Morning, For those of you not aware of this, the USGenWeb project maintains archives for each county. The material in these archives is submitted by anyone that has access to original non-copyrighted material. This can be bible records, marriage records, obits, biographies, etc., etc. If you have original Pope Co material please consider submitting it to the archives to help us increase the availability of online records. You may not use material from published books that carry a copyright later than 1923. If you have the original documents you may use those as your source of information. For instance, if you have a death, marriage or birth record from the courthouse you may submit the information. If you own a family bible you can transcribe the family register information and submit it. The easiest avenue for submission is the IL-Traces mailing list. You can subscribe by sending a message to IL-Traces-request@rootsweb.com and putting only the word subscribe in the body. Leave the subject line blank and turn off your signature.
