Found this in Pope Co. records: June 5, 1843 - William Morris - a poorchild, born August 1, 1840, was indentrued to Caleb Cotton by the county commissioners. William agreed to serve faithfully until the age of 21 and not to absent himself from his master. Cotton agreed to provide good comfortable lodging, diet and medical aid and to teach William or to have him taught to read, write and the ground rules of arithmetic and the art of farming. Cotton also agreed to provide William with a new Bible and two new suits of clothes at the expiratiion of his term. Does anyone have any information on this Willliam Morris or Caleb Cotton? Also looking for information on Charles G. Yewell born July 24, 1826 and John Yewell born April 25, 1828, sons of John Yewell who was deceased in 1836. These two children were indentured to James Fulkerson by the County Commissioners on Dec 5 , 1836 . Thomas Yewell guardian, took Charles and John and released James Fulkerson from the agreement on May 14, 1842. This agreement was rescended in December 1847 by mutual agreement of both parties. I would be interested on any information regarding the Ewell family and especially on the James Fulkerson ( also spelled Fulkinson). Thank You Marla Webb
