That was a shot in the dark, since we assumed he was buried at Sulfur Springs in Pope County with his wife and several of his children. My husband went to the library here in Paducah and found that. A cousin sent us the list of his children with the first two or three born in Alexander. What we want to know is when and how long he lived at Clear Creek? Why he is buried there and not with his wife. Who his parents are, etc. I am also searching Stewart Co.,Tn where he was born. I found a William Robbs in the 1840 census there. I only looked at the Stewart Co. weblink, so not much is available. I have found a lot in the Pope History Book on John Randolph and Mary Ann reevis, Catherine's mother. They had several children. He remarried later and more children. The James W. Robbs is the stopping point. Oh, Lindsay Cem has him listed as James D. Robbs, but the date of death is the same. My cousin's research also confirms the James W.and the date of death. Thanks for your help. I'll look into Union too. Sharon
