In reply to Sharon Brown's question regarding one of my Pope County ancestors, William Waters King: I formerly thought that Wm.'s middle name was probably from a close family member, but having recently traced William back to Brunswick County, Virginia, where he was born abt 1764, and then being able to connect him to other preceding generations, I have not yet found a Waters family connection. In the Brunswick County area at that time, however, there was a preacher named William Waters, so it is possible that my ancestor was named after a revered religious leader. Carolynn Waldon
