My Pope County surnames are : KEITH and LAWRENCE. Specifically I am trying to find information about George W. KEITH, b. 1811 in Tennessee or Georgia, who migrated with his family to Pope Co. from Alabama in the late 1850's. His son was William W. Keith, b. 1855. George W. Keith was married to Malinda A. (maiden name unknown). William W. Keith was married to Ester J. Lawrence, b. 1857 in Texas. I have no information on who Ester's parents were other than the fact her father was born in Kentucky and her mother in North Carolina. The Keiths lived in Eddyville near Stonefort. There was at the same time a large family of Lawrences living nearby. Ester was probably related to them, but not in the lines of Lawrences in the area indicated in the 1850-70 Censuses. I suspect her family moved there from Texas after the 1870 Census. She married William W. Keith at the age of 18 in 1875. >
