    3. Laura >From what I remember the Clerk is very helpful. it has been a few years since I was there. The clerk let me go through the records myself, but they made the copies of documents themselves (when they could) and requested that I put the records back after they were finished. The Library all though small does have some good genealogical items. And don't forget to go the Historical Society. I did not find much there myself (but then again I did not ask). But they still had copies of the latest History books for sale. If you get the chance you might want search some of the other county court houses in surrounding counties, since people moved from place to place. I made the mistake of not finding out what the hours of the courthouse were before we got there. Well it was Sunday when we arrived, I thought for sure someone at the police station could tell me the hours. Imagine my surprise to find out that it was also closed, locked up tight. There is a small hotel in town, I have not stayed there so I know nothing about the place. But if they have the same southern hospitality as most places down there you should not have a problem.
