Notes DRUCILLA KING BUTLER The following extract is taken from the Middletown Chips, a paper published at Middletown, Missouri. She was born in the State of Virginia, August 1, 1809. At the age of twelve years she moved with her parents to the State of Illinois, where in 1827, she was married to Mr. Joseph Butler. She was the mother of fifteen children, three of whom were kissed away by the Spirit of God in infancy, the remaining twelve lived to be grown and married. There are five out of nine boys and four out of six girls still living. Mother Butler comes of a very patriotic line. Her great grandfather on her father's side, served in the Revolutionary War and helped free his country. Her grandfather, when we became embroiled with England again, stood by our flag and fought its battles, serving in the War of 1812. Her father and her husband served in the Black Hawk War, and three of her sons fought in our late unpleasantness wearing the Blue from 61 to 65. Mother Butler was 85 years, 6 months, and six days old when she died. I have enjoyed reading this. I descend through the Margaret Anderson and John King family through my grandfather, Albert Robbs, son of Sarah King.
Bob: I have no Joseph Butler in my database, but I do have lots of Butlers from that area and in that time frame. My grandfather had three brothers and 12 sisters from around there and I don't have much data on the brothers. Lets keep in touch.
