    3. Thank you Pat for the info n the Reed family -----Original Message----- From: Clede and Pat O'Neal Sent: Tue, 30 Aug 2005 19:35:38 -0700 To: ILPOPE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [ILPOPE-L] 1818 Pope co.census Shirley, Unfortunately the Census didn't start listing all the names in tha household until 1850. I did find Thomas on the 1818 which only lists '1 male over 21 and 6 others' in the household. In the 1820 it gives just a bit more: 1 male under 10, 2 males 10-16, 1 male 16-26, 2 females under 10 and 1 female 16-26. They must have moved on before the next census since they are not listed there. I do find a Thomas Reed in the marriage records marrying Elizabeth Scroggins 9 Aug, 1832. It indicates they are both of Pope County, so it seems odd he isn't listed on the 1830 Census, I guess they could have been living with someone else. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. For others just joining the conversation, Jonathan WARD and Rosie McGEE arrived in Pope County, IL about 1816. Jonathan WARD immediately died and Rosie McGEE WARD died a few years later, leaving their children with guardians including William SIMS. As adults, the WARD children lived in Massac, Johnson and Pulaski Counties (especially the Boaz / Karnak / Belknap / Vienna area), the first generation marrying in to the ENSMINGER, HAZEL / HAZLE, COPLAND / COPELAND & CALHOON, and MORROW families. Children of Jonathan WARD and Rosie McGEE WARD were: Pleasant Lewis WARD, John WARD, Anna WARD, Louisa M. WARD, Jonathan L. or Nathan WARD, and one thus far unidentified daughter WARD. > > Stella, your notes have intrigued me. Can you please answer some questions for me? . . . > > 1.)
