    3. Terry: William "Carroll" Belcher was my gg grandfather. I don't have all my records together and I can't get Family Tree Maker to load onto my new computer, so I'm kind of speaking from memory here. My William was always found around Pope County, IL and that is where he lived when Millie Caroline was born. He is buried in Dexter, MO. The other William C. Belcher, according to Judy Smith, was a deserter in the Civil War. So my guess is the one you are looking for is from Pope County. If you have Judy's email, she would be able to confirm this. Belcher I am looking for was born on September 12, 1839 and died March 3, 1874. He was the father of Millie Caroline Belcher who married John McClellan Kerley. > > BELCHER, WILLIAM C PVT G 14 IL US CAV POPE CO > BELCHER, WILLIAM C REC G 14 IL US CAV VIENNA > > > Terry Ceballos > "Oh, what a tangled mess you see, > If you take a peek at my family tree!" > http://ceballos.freeyellow.com/ > http://hairball.fws1.com/ >
