Just for further info, which may not be significant at all: Pope County, Illinois Marriage Books A-E, 1813 - 1877, shows one: Elizabeth BARNETT marr. to Samuel BURNES on Aug 11, 1849. (Book A, Page 408) - apparently this is not the Elizabeth you are searching In Pope County. HOBBS marriages listed between 1813-1836 were: *Abraham HOBBS to Miss Patsy SHELBY, Nov 03, 1828 *William HOBBS to Miss Elizabeth CASSINGER, July 15, 1830 (Soloman CASSINGER) also noted: William HOBBS to Miss Temperance GIBBS, May 28, 1835 and, Susan Catharine HOBBS to Burlin LEDBETTER, July 14, 1836 Wishing you much success on your journey. :o) === Donna Payo wrote: >Thanks for your reply, but I think this is quite strange or more confusing >as for Elizabeth's maiden name. > >One, there were no HOBBS in the IL territory for the 1807 census.
