Dear Corey, Yes! We are part of the same family! Samantha Rogers was a sister to my great-grandfather, James Franklin Rogers (May 5, 1854 Bedford Co., TN-October 9, 1943 Massac Co., IL). They were the children of Daniel Willis Rogers (ca 1818 Bedford Co., TN-July 25, 1874 Pope Co., IL) and Keziah Maxwell (ca 1818-ca 1890). I have done extensive research on all the descendants of Daniel and Keziah and even have you in my database. You are the great-grandson of James Aly (Hopkins) Rodgers, correct? Is your grandfather, James Edward Rodgers still living? If you are wondering how all I know all this, I used to be in contact with Tonia Rodgers Parker--though not for at least the last couple of years. Tonia has done extensive research on the two families of James Aly and I would never have known what happened to him if it weren't for her. One of the small stories in our family is about James Aly. Everyone always marvelled that he had been given twelve names at birth: James Aly Jackson Thomas Alfred Dickson William Daniel Franklin Edward Amos Hopkins. Supposedly he had been named after all his uncles and I have found that to be true on most of the 12 names. No one in the family knew what happened to him after the early 1900's so it was amazing to hear his story in his "second life."
