I need any help I can get.....I started researching my granddaughters' father's side, which is the BOWMAN-DOYLE-BATES-ELDER family. Fred Bates was the son of Douglas C. Bates & Alpha J. Volle and his wife Ruth Elder was the daughter of Mack D. Elder and Delsa C. Campbell. Delsa was the daughter of James H. Campbell and his 4th wife, Augusta A. Aly. This is where I really need the help. Who were the parents of James H.? Were they: James Campbell & unknown or James Campbell & Malinda Henley or could it be James Campbell and Malinda Smith, who was married to William Henley first?
