Doesn't the Illinois State Archives have film or something about the Pension apps.? Seems like someone next to me was using something like that one day when I was working there. They have lots of Civil War Records on film that I used when researching Veterans of Rev. War, War of 1812, Mexican War, & any of Illinois Units from Civil War, about 75 men who are buried in our cemetery. Very time consuming but several needed new markers, some were illegible and some were missing entirely. J. E. Southwick
I should give Illinois State Archives a call to see if they have any additional info. I'd love to go to Springfield and do some research. It took 7 or 8 months to get the records by mail (I'm in California). Pardon my ignorance, but which cemetery were you researching? ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, August 08, 2002 8:58 PM Subject: Re: [ILPOPE-L] 120th Illinois Infantry, Company "E", 1862-1865 > Doesn't the Illinois State Archives have film or something about the Pension > apps.?
