You could call the Pope County Clerk, Connie Gibbs, at 618-683-4466. She is always very helpful and I am sure that she has answered this question in the past. Connie's office doesn't have the probate records, they are across the hall. When I went to Pope County to do research, Connie's office was very helpful, but the office where the probate records are located was overworked and I was unable to get to the old books and look at them.
