    2. I am sorry but I can't remember if I posted this recently or not. I was wondering if anyone on this list lives in the Golconda or Metropolis areas and knows any people with the last name Joyner. I am descended from some Joyners from that area of Illinois and I live in Pennsylvania but would like to get in touch with some Joyners since I'm sure they are related to me. I can be reached at Laura1853@aol.com Thanks, Laura

    3. Dear Corey, Yes! We are part of the same family! Samantha Rogers was a sister to my great-grandfather, James Franklin Rogers (May 5, 1854 Bedford Co., TN-October 9, 1943 Massac Co., IL). They were the children of Daniel Willis Rogers (ca 1818 Bedford Co., TN-July 25, 1874 Pope Co., IL) and Keziah Maxwell (ca 1818-ca 1890). I have done extensive research on all the descendants of Daniel and Keziah and even have you in my database. You are the great-grandson of James Aly (Hopkins) Rodgers, correct? Is your grandfather, James Edward Rodgers still living? If you are wondering how all I know all this, I used to be in contact with Tonia Rodgers Parker--though not for at least the last couple of years. Tonia has done extensive research on the two families of James Aly and I would never have known what happened to him if it weren't for her. One of the small stories in our family is about James Aly. Everyone always marvelled that he had been given twelve names at birth: James Aly Jackson Thomas Alfred Dickson William Daniel Franklin Edward Amos Hopkins. Supposedly he had been named after all his uncles and I have found that to be true on most of the 12 names. No one in the family knew what happened to him after the early 1900's so it was amazing to hear his story in his "second life." I look forward to comparing notes with you as Tonia says you have done extensive research and are very interested in your Rogers ancestry. I can take the Rogers line back 5 generations past James Aly. 2. Ken Anderson
    3. I have ran into a dead-end on this family line and would like to know if anyone has information on John Anderson, stone mason in Golconda in the early 1800's, came to the area before statehood with his wife Eliza (Elizabeth) Davidson from Indiana. I understand they were married in Indiana but I have been unable to confirm that for sure. I think she may have died rather young and John may have married two other times, a Miss Hathaway and a Miss Boswell, whom he outlived as well. John Anderson my have come from Penn. into Indiana, not sure. Believe John died approx. 1833, his son William lived with Dr. Sims in Golconda. William married Sarah (Sally Gallimore (Galamore). William was born 15 June 1817, died Oct. 2, 1863, leaving wife and 9 children (John G., Andrew, William, Mathew, Mary Ann, James Alfred, Franklin, Ellen and Priscilla). Ken Anderson

Roger, My apologies for not making a clearer explaination, it was my family, SC Camden that i found listed in Union Precinct in the 1910 and 1920 censuses, I did the work a few years ago at the LDS library Family History Center and just copied the pages with my family on them. I do recall that when I was ordering tha microfilm I couldn't give the librarian the name of a town.
