    3. Looking for futher information on James H. McCarver or anyone listed below. James H. McCarver was born in Tennessee in 1810. He married Elizabeth " Betsy " Ann Fox the daughter of Nathan and Rebecca Galbraith Fox. She was born on April 13th. 1820 in Kentucky. In 1840 James and family are living in Pope County , Illinois. Then they move to Livingston County , Kentucky by 1845. This family's descendants feel that James died about this time , for Elizabeth remarries to a widower , William Mosely on October 26th.1848 in Massac County , Illinois. But , we feel he left or divorced Elizabeth. At about this same time in Crittenden County Kentucky , a adjoining County to Livingston County. Family story relates that a James McCarver was either working for the stage line in Bluegrass , near Marion , Crittendon County , or was just a passenger when he met Orpha Scarlet , who was at the time waiting at the stage line for word of her husband who never returned. James and Orpha married in Crittendon County on November 30th. 1851. Bondsman was G. W. Bruff. They lived on Ford's Ferry road , near Marion Kentucky. There is a child who is raised or adopted by James H. and Orpha Scarlet McCarver , His name is James Henry Barnett born in 1846 in Kentucky. He may be Orpha's child from her prior marriage , but she was married under the name of Scarlett. He took the name of McCarver , and used till 1891 , then changed his name to James Henry Barnett. A story was told that James H. McCarver got into some sort of fight , and moved the family to Johnson County , Illinois , near Vienna about 1858. He lived there the remainder of his life. [ James as one child born in Williamson County , Illinois on November 3rd. 1863. But why Williamson County? This makes James H. in Williamson County only 10 days before William H. McCarver dies in Williamson County. We have found no relationship between the two.] James died about 1873. and is buried at Wild Cat Cem. near Vienna. [ We have no proof that James McCarver who married Elizabeth and James McCarver who married Orpha are the same James McCarver. Except that they Both are of the same age and are living near each other and the odd fact that the first three children have the same names. Also records seem to indicate the two families knew each other.] Children of James H. and Elizabeth Ann Fox McCarver: John McCarver 1830-1840 m. Sarah Fine McCarver 1839 Pope Co. ? Il. m. 3. Hi, I think I forgot to let all of you know that I updated the county page a little over the last couple of weeks. There's a couple of new family page links, there's another cemetery on line now. Of course the queries and surname pages have been updated again. I've got some more material here I need to transcribe as soon as I get time. Isn't it awful the way work and life in general can interfere with genealogy.*grin* Ginger gingerh@intrnet.net

    3. Hi all! I´m from Sweden and I´m still looking for my grandfather. I have a someone in Illinois who is helping me to get a SS-5 document. When I´m waiting for that I thought that they of you who are visiting a cemetary, maybe could see if you could find him. His name was Lave Anderson and he was born in 1897 and died in 1965. I know that he died in Illinois, because I´ve found him in the Social Secuity Death Index, but I don´t know exactly where. That is what I want to know. Thanks Göran Andersson

    3. Dear Bob: Have you been in touch with Robert K. BLATTER, Colorado Springs, CO? He has done research on the BLATTERs & BOOS. Have you checked out my books? There are a lot of BLATTERs & BOOS in them. In fact, if you research Pope County, these are valuable research tools. Information in them is not normally found elsewhere. This little newspaper in Golconda (Herald- Enterprise), contained much genealogical information. I have taken all births, marriages, deaths and much other misc information from it and compiled it into books. They are every name indexed. Bonnie BARTON SKAGGS, Compiler of Pope County Illinois Herald-Enterprise Abstracts, Volumes I, II & III. Thank you.
