Hi all, I think I forgot to say *Thank You* to those who responded to my question about Monroe being in Pope or Hardin. Thanks to those of you who let me know there is a Monroe in BOTH! Good Morning, For those of you not aware of this, the USGenWeb project maintains archives for each county. The material in these archives is submitted by anyone that has access to original non-copyrighted material. This can be bible records, marriage records, obits, biographies, etc., etc. If you have original Pope Co material please consider submitting it to the archives to help us increase the availability of online records. You may not use material from published books that carry a copyright later than 1923. If you have the original documents you may use those as your source of information. For instance, if you have a death, marriage or birth record from the courthouse you may submit the information. If you own a family bible you can transcribe the family register information and submit it. The easiest avenue for submission is the IL-Traces mailing list. You can subscribe by sending a message to IL-Traces-request@rootsweb.com and putting only the word subscribe in the body. Leave the subject line blank and turn off your signature. Please read the welcome message for instructions on submissions. You may check out the IL Archives at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/il/ilfiles.htm Thanks in advance for helping, I look forward to seeing your submissions. Ginger gingerh@intrnet.net

It was a fairly large precinct as far as size in that period. Rick
Hi Rick, Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Monroe in Pope kind of take in Twp 11 S 7 E and 11 S 6 E. I'm not sure, but does it take in that area in Twp 12 S too? I know it took in the Blanchard and Oak area. ( Where all my elusive, dropped by aliens, ancestors hid out.) Ginger gingerh@intrnet.net ---------- > From: Ricky T. Hi all, I've been wondering why the 1880 census for Monroe Precinct lists the county as Pope, but in 1900, the same Monroe Precinct lists Hardin as the county. I know Hardin County was formed from Pope, but many, many years earlier. Could this have been a mistake on the part of the census-taker or did Monroe actually move from Pope to Hardin? Hi all, After battling round 3 of the flu since Christmas I finally got the queries and surname pages updated. Ginger gingerh@intrnet.net
Could you share with me who Jacob KIDD's parents were? Do you know where they were in 1800 and why they aren't on a Census in KY? This is the closest I have come to finding a KIDD in KY other than the ones in Fayette Co and Livingston Co. I am corresponding with another KIDD who is working on the KIDDs in SC. Let's keep in touch Elaine Kidd O'Leary
