Hi Faye, My first Morris ancestor is my grandmother Angeline Morris b 15 Apr 1881 ( I think) Thompsonville, Franklin, IL. she md James Adam Cowger in 1900, probably in Saline Co IL. she is the d/o Joseph Morris b ab 1858 in IL (I havn't found any record of him) md 14 Feb 1872 IL ( no County or twp) to Mary Elizabeth Dean. (I have nothing on her) My Aunt told me once that Joseph Morris was the s/o James Morris. That is all I have and it is very sketchy!. In fact it is all the info I have except that I know that Angeline died in Sikeston MO in Jan 1939 (the yr I was born) I never had the priviledge of knowing my grandmothers, my other grandmother died in Aug of 1940, and I was too little to know anything. Both my parents and grandparents are gone, so I am having to search any lead I can think of. Thanks you so much for responding to my query, I would love to hope I might find a Morris cousin that knows more than I do. Warm Regards, Bonnie Ferguson Lancaster CA jacboni@aol.com

Lawson Gowins, Lon's father, was my Great Grandfather. My Grandfather was Dorris Gowins, a brother to Lon. I would like to contact any of Lon's children who might be still living in Pope County. I don't know if the Bible even still exists, or who has it, but I would like to confirm some names that are supposed to be in it. I would like to have addresses or E-mail address to contact them. Mary, I see the JACKSON surname in your listing. I have two Nancy JACKSONs that I'm searching for. One was Nancy JACKSON (1815-1860) who m. Isaac L. MARTIN. They lived in Hardin County. I think her father was George JACKSON. The other was Nancy McGuire JACKSON (1838-1897) who married David Alexander FINNEY. They lived in Pope County. I think her father was Andrew J. JACKSON. Here is the one for Pope Co. Terry _______________________________________________________________________________ You have added to the subscriber list of: ILPOPE-L@rootsweb.com the following mail address: tceballos@eli.uta.edu Welcome to the ILPOPE mailing list! You are currently subscribed in "mail mode", which means that you will receive every posting made to ILPOPE as a separate e-mail. The directions on how to change to digest mode are given below. 1. How to unsubscribe. Send a message to ILPOPE-L-request@rootsweb.com that contains (in the body of the message) the command unsubscribe and no additional text. 2. How to subscribe. Whatever you just did worked, or you'd not be getting this message. But for future reference (for instance, if your subscription is cancelled for whatever reason and you want to resubscribe), just send the command "subscribe" to ILPOPE-L-request@rootsweb.com. 3. How to change to digest mode (several postings are combined and sent to you together as a single large message). There are two steps. First, send the command "unsubscribe" to ILPOPE-L-request@rootsweb.com to discontinue mail mode. Second, send the command "subscribe" to ILPOPE-D-request@rootsweb.com to start receiving digests. 4. How to change to NOMAIL mode. There is no formal NOMAIL mode. All you have to do is follow the directions above and unsubscribe when you want the messages to stop, and then when you want them to start again, simply subscribe again. 5. If you'd like to post a message so everyone on the mailing list receives it, just send it to ILPOPE-L@rootsweb.com. It will then be sent on to everyone in both mail and digest mode. You don't need to send it explicitly to both.
