I know there was a Whiteside in Glendale around 1860, but I don't know if there is a connection. I'll look what little I have up and send it to you. Yes, I'd like to see anything you have on Whiteside. I've also been sent the Grisham ancestory, and Whiteside/s are mentioned. I wonder if it was used/not used by the same members of a family. We probably aren't related, but everything I read helps me learn more abut the area and find those that are related. I've only been doing this about 6 weeks, so I'm a novice. Sharon

    3. Sharon, Thanks for the response. I am not sure if there are also WHITESIDES (with an S), but all my WHITESIDE ancestors from Johnson and Pope County are spelled without it. If you are wanting more information on WHITESIDE, I have a good bit, some of which I have dug up myself, but most of which I got from Don Whiteside's "manuscript", as edited by William Whiteside. Between them they have put together a huge amount of Whiteside history. When I sent my email requesting HARRELL and WHITESIDE info, I only sent to the Johnson County list, I should have placed it on the Pope County list also. Would still like to find more on HARRELL's. 3. If you write/or call IRAD they will search/photocopy for $.25 anything they find. This is how I get Death Certificates for $.50 Sometimes they don't even charge me. They photo a microfilm, and then say "Is this who you want?". If you want a "real" certified Death Certificate it is $10. -- Pat -----Original Message----- From: Dale J & Cindy L Frie <SKIFRI@techheadnet.com> To: ILPOPE-L@rootsweb.com <ILPOPE-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Monday, December 21, 1998 7:58 PM Subject: Re: [ILPOPE-L] Alesander County? >Sharon, >If you have the date of death you might be able to find a death certificate at >Springfield. Just don't know how long he lived there. I need to check the date he died against the date Catherine died. That might have something to do with it. Since he migrated from Tn....he may have had other family there. I do know he died in 1872, so he was only 42 or 43 when he died. He was also listed as a vetern, which we didn't know. I hadn't heard of him a week ago, so anything is great. Sharon
