Could someone please do a 1910 Saline Co. census look up for William H. and Lenora Harlow? Thanks, Jan
In an effort to prevent any further circulation of incorrect information, I wanted to let you know that I obtained a copy of the original HAZEL / ROLSTON marriage record that the Illinois State Archives had posted on their online marriage index. Some of you had seen this listed as 'Robert Hazel and Roda Rolston'. However, the actual records says RICHARD, not ROBERT. I have since sent a scan of the original document to the ISA, and they have already made the correction on the website based on the original document. They explained that the site was created by volunteer help, and as always, original sources should be consulted. Following is a transcription of the marriage record . . . 1807: "Indiana Territory Randolph County, 8th day of January, Richard Hazel and Roda Rolston both of the county and Territory aforesaid came before me Robert Hay a Justice of the peace for the sd. County and was married and by _____ of a license from the Governor. Robert Hays" Debbie McArdle (Desc. from Daniel Hazel's daughter, Sarah "Sally" Hazel who married 1st James N. Hill and who married 2nd John Ward.)

Hi Barb, You mentioned the term "river pirates" in a post yesterday. Could you tell me a little about them? I am researching my KING family of Pope/Massac Cos. and Livingston Co., KY. An uncle (either GG, or 3G), Jeff KING, was a commercial fisherman out of Livingston Co., KY. I am hoping that maybe info about the river pirates might give names of people operating on the rivers. I believe my BERRY line also has a river connection due to Berry's Ferry, but it is another brick wall for me. I am seeking the parentage of James Henry KING and Matilda Ann BERRY that resided in Massac Co., IL in 1860. Matilda died in Metropolis, Massac Co. in 1869 and is buried at Farmer's Hall cemetery. James moved to Livingston Co., KY and died there in 1934. Any help or leads in the right direction will be greatly appreciated. Deb Mullins Kirsch Memphis, TN
My mother, Myrtle Sistler-Walter, was baptised in a natural springs in Pope County, IL, in the early part of the 1900s. I have a picture of her, but can't identify the place. It has a water falls cascading over rocks, and there were several people in the water dressed with jackets on. Would anyone have an idea where this baptismal could have happend? Also, any clue as to what church it could have been? I am thinking it was a Baptist Church in Pope County, but don't have the name of it. Carol R.
