I would like to know if a Rebecca Holloway has any connection with you. She married Thomas Miles Payne in Ripley county I believe. Joel, I received the necklace. I have a question. The matching bracelet that I received in the prior shipment. I wore it on vacation and the finish wore off, now it has a pink cast to it. Better late than never, I was out of town when the surnames were being posted. I am researching: Skiles Lauderdale Williams Hathaway Jackson (desc. of Josiah Silas) Leverett Clubb/Croft Stapleton/
Hi Susan which Lauderdale line are you researching? I descend from John and Pheobe (Reese) Lauderdale. I have accumulated a lot of data through out the years on his descendants as well as his brothers. I have a couple that I have not been able to fit in was wondering if you could maybe shed any light on it for me. Cindy L. Well since, for the third day in a row AOL is so over loaded nothing will open but email, I guess its time to write some. Surnames: Lauderdale, Grisham, Moyers, Chambliss Related names: Austin, Sistler, Walters, Robinson, Whiteside, Shufflebarger (any spelling). Also have Barnhill, Glass, Brush, Hannah, and just about any other name in Pope county. The census books have been reprinted and are available from the Southern Illinois Genealogy Society. I can't find what I did with the URL and can't get into Google (or anything else for that matter) to get it for you. A good place to look for current obituaries for southern Illinois is www.semissourian.com For all online newspapers try www.onlinenewspapers.com Susan
Sorry for the double entry, my computer rebooted itself with the first try and didn't know it went through. Who can tell me about the DEATH RECORD books of Pope County, IL?? Are these available online or listed for sale? Thanks in advance.
Who can tell me about the DEATH RECORD books of Pope County, IL?? Are these available online or listed for sale? Thanks in advance.
Susan, Yes. That is right. Amelia Louise Boos married John Alexander Moyers on December 4, 1866, in Pope County. Do you happen to have the full name of the man, ? Arnold, that Amelia and John's daughter, Emma, married? I have a lot of BOOS family information, most of which I received from Dr. Bob Blatter, in Colorado Springs, CO. I would be happy to exchange information with you. Jim
Susan, I would be happy to share anything I have with you! Did you get my post to Jim? Cheri [email protected]
Jim, I hopefully still get the Pope County mailing list! I was receiving both individual posts, and the digest form,,, so I unsubscribed from the digest form, as I prefer the individual posts. William Marion was the brother of my great-grandfather, Hal Robert Johnson. Their parents were William T. (Buck) Johnson, and Missouri Ann Lundy. Do you have their other siblings? If not, I do. I show William M, and Ella's children as Marion Lavere Johnson born 5 June 1905 in Golconda and Darriel Lanellys born 15 Feb 1907 in Golconda. Both sons. I also have a third son Marshall born 7 July 1909 in Golconda,,, but have no other info on him,,, and I believe at this point he died in infancy as he wasn't on the 1910 census. I don't have a death record on him though. My great uncle who was alive until last year informed me that one of the sons grew up to be an attorney and the other was a bakery worker in Detroit, but I don't have verification of that. Was Ella's real name Luella Mabel? You better email me privately just in case they unsubscribed me from everything, in which case I will have to change it again as I enjoy reading the posts!!! Cheri
Folks, I decided to reprint a few Pope Co 1845, 55 & 65 State Census books......give me a couple of days to get the best price. I'll email the list when I have the information, but please email me privately, Ginger has been very patient, but I can't keep using her list. More later.......Judy Judy Foreman Lee [email protected]
Joann, Thank you very much for the address. I am really surprised it is not listed with the Genealogy Soc. as I do know it is a very old cemt. Thanks, Linda
Is this the same cemetery that was called Irby cemetery at one time? Cheri and Jim, Adding my own two cents here, Johann and Catherina had a daughter Amelia that married into my family. I am willing to exchange information with both of you. Susan
As far as I know, Joyner Cemetery is not on line or listed at the Saline County Genealogical Society. However, if there is a particular person or family you are seeking, you might try writing the Joyner Cemetery Association, Stonefort, IL 62987 for information. A street address is not necessary. Good luck. Joann __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! News - Today's headlines http://news.yahoo.com
