Jan. 16, 1880: "Died at Frank Woodwards, Jan. 10, 1880, Nancy, wife of Alimer Hoig, in the 37th year of her age. She was the daughter of Andrew and Catherine Henry and was born in this county June 17, 1843. She was the mother of seven children, one of which....? by her side. She experienced religion and united with the M.E. church in 1867, and was a good christian mother and lived a prudent example for her bereaved family. It was a sad sight to see a weeping family of five children lead away from the grave of a mother by a broken husband. Her funeral was preached on Sunday afternoon by the pastor of the M.E. church."
