Aug. 20, 1880: " A little child of Mr. Numan Bentley, of Griggsville, died suddenly at Cincinnati Landing on Wednesday, the 11th. The mother and child had reached that place from Barry the day before on their way to Iowa to join the father, when the little one took sick and died before medical assistance could reach it. The body was interred at Griggsville."
