"Luta" as she was known by her relatives and friends died June 12, 1916, making her at the time of her death 48 years, 7 months and 26 days old. She came to Missouri with her parents in 1869, living near Perry until 29 years ago when she went to Kansas City, making her home with Mrs. Montgomery, a dressmaker. She was married 27 years ago to J. C. Boyd. To this union were born six children, one girl, Mary dying five years ago. There are left to mourn her loss, her husband, also four daughters, Mrs. George Knott, 2201 Tracy, Mrs. Robert Waymer, 1610 Paseo, Irene, Gladys and Archie at home. Also two brothers Frank C. and Harvey G. Smith and sister, Mrs. Wm. Wright near Perry. She united with the Christian Church at Vandalia about 30 years ago and was a member of Linwood Boulevard Church at the time of her death. She was laid to rest in the beautiful Elmwood Cemetery in K! ansas City, after a short service by Rev. Jenkins in the Elmwood Chapel. The floral offering of her many friends was beautiful.
