IL, Friday, August 29, 1890: "Solomon Hornback was born July 3, 1810, and died Aug. 26, 1890, aged 80 years, 1 month and 23 days. In 1836 he married Emily Blackwell in Kentucky, who was a native of that State. They emigrated to Illinois in 1836, and she died in 1878. Of their ten children five are living. He had been a member of the Christian church fifty years. The funeral was preached by Eld. H.C. Littleton at the Christian church in El Dara, Wednesday, Aug. 27, and the body was laid to rest in the Hornback cemetery near El Dara." _ (I am not related to Mr. Hornback. - Gerri).
