June 11, 1880: "Calvin D. Blair was born in Barry, Pike county, Ill., Dec. 8, 1851, became a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of this place in 1873, of which organization he has been a very active member. He was united in marriage to Dora M. Blake, Nov. 21, 1875. The few years of their married life were years of continued pleasure. He died at his residence June 6, 1880. He leaves a wife and many friends and relatives to mourn his death. His funeral was conducted by Rev. A.M. Danely on last Monday afternoon at the M.E. church. The Odd Fellows and Daughters of Rebekak turned out in great numbers to fulfill the commission to "bury the dead."
