On page 98 of the 1850 census it lists Joab SHINN age 21 M farmer born in Ohio = living in household of> CRAWFORD, James 45 M farmer 1500 England , Elisabeth 36 F KY , Mary 10 F ILL , Ann 8 F ILL ,Laura 6 F ILL next page 99 HODGES, Amos 49 M laborer KY , Mary 49 F KY , Nancy 25 F KY , Elisabeth 17 F ILL , James 14 M ILL , Julia 11 F ILL , William 9 M ILL , John Hardin 6 M ILL note Hodge has s on end and in dwelling 832 where as CRAWFORD lived in dwelling 825. page 209: SHINN, Joab 55 M farmer 4000 N.J. , Nancy 53 F KY , Elizabeth 32 F OH , Asa 20 M farmer IN , Susanna 18 F OH , Rachel 16 F OH dwelling 240 pages 98 & 99 are in Griggsville and page 209 is in New Salem township Hope this helps.
