Bill- I am a descendent of Nathaniel Bagby, Holford's neighbors. I am not a Holford relative, that I know of. But, you must have read the section in Pike County History by Chas. C. Chapman about Hardin Twsp. pg 586. "The first pilgrams in Hardin were Benjamin Barney, Nathaniel Bagby, Solomon Main, Jacob Henry, Joseph Halford, Jesse Mason and Aaron Thornton. The first couple united in marriage in the township were Nathaniel Thornton and Lucinda Bagby". Is this a misspelling/misprinting in the Pike History as Halford? Should it have really been Holford? Or, is it a different family altogether? FYI - The Bagby's lived just across the field from Holfords, as the crow flies. Bagby's owned farms in sections 8 & 9 of Hardin.
