    1. RE: [ILPIKE] FRENCH

    3. Greetings, I have a HANNAH FRENCH who married (possibly) a Joshua Williams in Pike County, Illinois on November 11, 1836. I suspect that she is descended from JEREMIAH FRENCH 1762-1834 (died Ohio), a private in the Hunterdon Co Militia New Jersey, during the Revolutionary War. His wife was HANNAH FINCH WILLIAMS FRENCH. They had, we believe, eight children: MARY ("POLLY" FRENCH) wife of George W. Lynn of community of Perry in Pike County, Sara Ann, Nathaniel, Moses. Elizabeth, Jeremiah Jr., William, and Hannah FRENCH. According to my source document, after their father died in Butler Co., Ohio in 1834, three or four of his daughters moved to Illinois "between the Mississippi and Illinois River" which, of course would include Pike County. We know that MARY FRENCH LYNN was one of those daughters. It's likely the other daughtersd would have been nearby. That's why I believe that the HANNAH FRENCH married in Pike County in 1836 is one of those daughers: the name, the geographicallocation, and the date of marriage all fit. Please let me know what you think. Best regards from beautiful Alaska, BOB LYNN Researching in Pike County: LYNN/LINN, FRENCH, DALE, LYLE, GRAY, REED, SCHAFFNIT, HAM.
