I am going to be updating the surnames, etc on the Pike Co ILGenWeb site Saturday evening. If you have any updates, additions, corrections or suggestions for the site (such as a new email address, a site we should link to, pictures to add, etc.) please let me know asap so I can get it all done at the same time. I have quite a few in my inbox so those that have sent me their updates in the last week or so - please do not resend - it will only serve to confuse me ;-) Volunteers Needed!! I need volunteers to transcribe some newspaper copies for the site. I have copied several years of "Delinquent Tax Lists" from the mid 1800's for Pike Co. The copies I have are not the best and the print is small however, if you are willing to help please let me know and I will snail mail you copies. Knowledge of HTML is not necessary for this project. Also, someone volunteered to help me move the obituaries to the GenConnect Obit board and I cannot find your name/email again. If you are still willing to help with this please contact me again. Last item I need a volunteer for! I could really use someone who can help me verify the email addresses on the surname and archived queries pages. For this you will need to be willing to send emails to a lot of individuals and notify me if any "bounce" so I can clear out the invalid entries. Again, please contact me if you are willing to help with this. "New Pike Co. Il Queries Post" - As I am sure all have noticed you are now seeing these posts on the ILPIKE mail list. These are posts made to the Pike Co IL GenConnect boards - usually by individuals who are not on the ILPIKE mail list. I set the ILPIKE list to receive notification when a new post has been made in the hopes that a few more connections can be made that otherwise may have been overlooked. Also - each post indicates that if you wish to unsubscribe from the notifications that you need to go to a particular URL. Please note that this will not work as the message is being sent to the ILPIKE mail list and as long as you are a subscriber to the mail list you will receive notification of new GenConnect posts.
