This was my whole idea too of saving family pictures. Transfer to disk or CD. Then give copies to other family members or store in safe. That way all is not lost when something tragic like a fire happens. I am also borrowing pictures to copy from other family members to put in my files. These heirlooms cannot be replaced if distroyed. I also made a photo album for my mother for Christmas. If pictures are lost or damaged at the nursing home just print out another one. She loves looking at her old pictures. I put them in plastic sleeves to help protect them some and put in three ring binder. Janet
