My latest experience is Kane County charging high prices for the copies at the probate clerk office ... The first four pages were almost $2.00 a piece then it went down to .50 and finally a quarter when it got to 20th page. And they will not allow one to search a name themselves... One has to pay I think it was $4.00 a year for them to look at the listings. They also give a hard time to anyone who does not have a genealogy license at the circuit clerks office.... Kendall County had charged a $5.00 fee to look. Oh well... I still need to do my research but it will wait.... till I have more time.... I suppose for money too. Lorrie
