Hello; When I checked probate estate papers at court house in Pittsfield, IL., there is a file 530 & 560, both for a Elijah HUMPHERY. one file had as a wife , Karen Happuck. as I recall are very similar. As I recall, one Elijah Humphery died 1844, one maybe 1847. I wish I had made copies of these files, but I did not. I think the census taker miss spelled HUMPHRY / HUMPHERY and put UMPHRY. I had not thought of this spelling, for my Happy Card, married Elijah Humphery. Now I can look at 1850 census for Happy Umphry, as she is not listed as Humphery. Hope this helps some one.
