Funeral services were held at Union Church, New Canton, Sunday afternoon. in charge of the service, Rev. Logan Dunham of the Barry Christian Church. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hufnagel sang several selections. New Canton Chapter O.E.S., gave their impressive funeral rites at the church. Casket bearers were nephews of Mrs. Willis, and sons of the late E.J. and Isabel Kendrick; John T., George, Ellis, Logan, Dewey and Earl Kendrick. Burial was in Shearer cemetery. Elizabeth, daughter of George and Irene McFarland, was born at New Canton, Oct. 31, 1864. She was married to Alonzo P. Willis in Pittsfield in 1884. To them were born three children, Irene, Joseph, and Eugene. Mr. Willis preced her in death in 1926, and Eugene passed away March 4, 1929. A brother Joseph McFarland died in 1940, and a sister Mrs. E.J. Kendrick, passed away in 1941. She was a member of the Christian Church, and of New Canton Chapter, No. 215, O.E.S. Mrs. Willis was a kind and loving mother, neighbor and friend. She leaves one daughter Irene; one son, Joseph and his wife Mary; two sisters, Mrs. Effie Hodge of St. Louis and Mrs. John Brammell of New Canton; and two brothers, George McFarland of Monroe City, Mo.; and Edward McFarland of New Canton.
