Great-great grandfather, William, died in Chambersburg, 24 SEPT 1866. He was married to Sarah Thornton, of England. Children were Lucinda/LuEllen/Aunt Nellie, William Albert, Orpha A., and George T. Williamson. William and Sarah were married at Edwardsville, Madison Co. IL, 23 June 1858. Believe family may have removed to Pike Co. Later (1870), Sarah and children are in Wapella, DeWitt Co. IL. The children were placed in the Normal, IL Soldier's and Sailor's Orphange. The children were later released back to their mother. It is probable that William Williamson, born 1832, was likely buried somewhere in Chambersburg area. I have been searching for many, many years for him. Recently received papers about orphange showing William's death date, and where he died. He was also with the 144th Alton Battalion, CO A. during the CW. Thanks for any info. Shari in SC
